Uhuhuk!

Bagaimana kabarnya? Alhamdulillah sehat yaa, semua yaa…

How are you doing, Fellas?

Well, I’m trying to keep my promise that I have to tell some activities that I did during YSEALI (Young Southeast Asia Leader Initiative) cohort Fall 2017 in the USA for 5 weeks, in September 7 – October 13, 2017. My host institution is in Northern Illinois University, it’s 1,5 hours to Chicago.

First day in campus, we attended the academic and administrative orientation with Colleen, an administrative director of YSEALI-NIU. We also attended the welcoming lunch from them.

In the second day, they invited us to explore the city and campus. One of the campus orientation was visiting Center of Southeast Asia Study. In this campus, they have a faculty which learn about Southeast Asia. So, no wonder that some of the students and lectures there can speak Bahasa Indonesia well.

The people in this picture were my 19 friends from ASEAN countries such as Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Philippines, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Indonesia itself. Yepp, we have different language, culture, religion and character.  Furthermore, we have to life together during the program. Surely, we took time to adapt each other but it doesn’t matter because I felt so happy that I can be a part of them.
